- Are there any restrictions on creating an account?
- Membership to NotesAndNeedles.com is restricted to US citizens over the age of 18. At some point we may expand membership to include additional countries. Access to the site is restricted for certain countries that serve as the origin of internet spam and hoaxes, including (but not limited to) Russia, Africa, Turkey, etc.

Finding Members
- How do I save my search preferences?
- When you visit the User Search page (click on Search), the bottom of the page contains a checkbox labeled Save This Search. Checking this box will save the currently selected Zipcode, Gender, State, Age Range, and Distance. The saved values will become your default search options and will also control the selection criteria for the match emails sent to you.
- I can't find my own profile in a search, is something wrong?
- Relax, everything is fine. Your own profile won't show up in searches that you perform, but it will show up for other users.

Edit My Profile
- How do I edit my profile?
- Log into NotesAndNeedles.com and press the Edit link.
- How do I update my Mood?
- Moods can be updated in one of two places - Either log into your account and navigate to the edit profile section, or use the Mood drop down at the top of any page to update your current mood
- Are there any guideline for editing my profile?
- For your own safety, do not include your real name, personal information such as phone numbers, addresses (email or physical) or other information that can be used maliciously.

Change Account Settings
- How do I change my email preferences?
- After logging into your account, navigate to the Account page. This page contains a section labeled Email Settings. Here you can choose to receive emails when someone sends you a message or adds you as a favorite. You can also specify at what interval you will receive emails containing your match results. If you do not want to receive match emails, set the number of days to 0. Be sure to press save to update your account.
- I want to take a break from NotesAndNeedles.com but I don't want to delete my account, what are my options?
- You can hide your profile instead of cancelling it. Hidden accounts will not be shown in the search or match results, however you can still receive messages. To hide your profile, after logging into your account, navigate to the Account page. This page contains a section labeled Profile Display. To hide your profile, check the Hidden checkbox. To unhide your profile, uncheck the Hidden checkbox. Be sure to press save to update your account.
- How do I prevent non registered users from viewing my profile?
- You can control who views your profile by forcing users to log in before they can see your details To protect your profile from views by non users, after logging into your account, navigate to the Account page. This page contains a section labeled Profile Display. To protect your profile, check the Protected checkbox. To un protect your profile, uncheck the Protected checkbox. Be sure to press save to update your account. PLEASE NOTE - it can take up to 12 hours for this change to take effect
- Can I change my password?
- Yes, passwords can be changed. To change your password after logging into your account, navigate to the Account page. This page contains a section labeled Change Password. Type in your new password. Be sure to press save to update your account.
- I forgot my password, what can I do?
- If you forgot your password you can have it emailed to you. Simply enter your email address HERE. You can also login with your email address in place of your username if it's still not working.
Profile Pictures
- How do I add pictures?
- Login to NotesAndNeedles.com, and click on Pictures. Click the Browse button to navigate to the image on your computer. Once you press OK, the image upload will begin. While the image is uploading you can enter a caption, choose if the image will be Hidden(not displayed on your profile), and you can also choose to set the image as your main picture. Only one image can be chosen as your main picture, this is the image that will be displayed in search results and the first image displayed on your profile.
Once the Image upload is complete, the upload status will change to upload successful and you can press the Save button to complete add the image to your profile.

- Are there any restrictions on profile images?
- Images must be in JPG, PNG, or GIF format. Images must NOT contain any nudity or copywritten (such as cartoons or celebrities) or offensive material. You can upload a maximum of 6 images. The maximum upload size is 1MB, and images will be resized to 400x400 pixels.
- Can I change image details once it has been added?
- Yes, to change an image, click the edit button next to the image you want to edit. You can change the caption, choose if an image is hidden, or if the image will be used as your Main Picture.
Delete or Hide Profiles
- Can I hide my profile without deleting my account?
- Yes, you can hide your profile instead of cancelling it. Hidden accounts will not be shown in the search or match results, however you can still receive messages. - I've found my dream Rockstar and/or Groupie, how do I delete my account?
- To cancel your account after logging into your account, navigate to the Account page. This page contains a link at the bottom labeled Click here to begin the account cancellation procedure. To cancel your account, click the link and follow the instructions. PLEASE NOTE - you can choose to hide your profile instead of cancelling your account. Once an account is canceled there is no way to reactivate the account, and the username will no longer be available.

Deleted Profiles
- I used to have an account on NotesAndNeedles but I canceled it, can it be restored?
- No, once an account has been deleted, it is gone, and the Username will no longer be available to prevent any confusion or identity theft.
- Is there any reason that my account may be canceled?
- Yes, accounts can be canceled by the administrative team if the user is rude or abusive to other members, uploads nudity or copywritten images to their profile, is under 18, soliciting other for any reason or sending spam.
Messages
- Is there any reason my message wouldn't get to a user?
- There are a few possible reasons - 1) It's possible to block users. When a user blocks another user, the messages sent by the other user will not be delivered to the blocking user. 2) You cannot send the same message more than 4 times in a 24 hour period. This is to prevent SPAM. Be creative, send a unique message to those you are contacting
- How do I block a user?
- If you no longer want to be contacted by a user, you can block the user by opening one of their messages and pressing the Block User button. Please note that blocking a user will remove all messages from that user from your Inbox. Additionally, a blocked user will not be able to message you until you unblock them. If a user is being offensive or threatening you, use the Flag button to notify us.
- How do I unblock a user?
- If you decide to unblock a user, you can do this by opening your inbox and clicking on the Blocked User List link at the bottom of the page. The resulting page will show all users that you've blocked. To unblock one, simply click on the Unblock User link next to their name.
- I think I was Spammed, what do I do?
- We have several security measures in place to prevent spam, but sometimes they get past our security. If you think you received a spam message, simply press the Flag button on the bottom of the message page. This will inform us that you have received an unwanted message and will also remove the message from your inbox. Please note that if a user is annoying you, you should use the Block User option. Messages should only be flagged if they are offensive, degrading, or Spam
